ryan adams. i went through a *wee* whiskeytown phase this summer (seriously people, have you heard houses on the hill? dancing with the women at the bar? (i like the live version better)). anyway, then i moved on to his solo stuff. i've been listening to gold a lot (that's an album, not a song). it's pretty freaking fantastic. good study music. favorites? firecracker, answering bell, la cienega, and somehow, someday. also, i really, really love oh my sweet carolina, which is not on that album, but is phenomenal. i think i just spelled that wrong. whatever.

i'm digging nina simone too. she's awesome. and gogol bordello. and rube waddell were kicking some serious ass last evening. oh yeah, and i'm really into the shins' chutes too narrow.

i just watched grey's anatomy. that show's cool. melodramatic, yes. but at least it doesn't seem to take itself too seriously (unlike some other medical drama i could name). although actually, there was a brilliantly funny scene on er this week. i can't even begin to recap it properly. let's just say that if you saw it, you know what i mean.

oh, and mst3k. lyn and i watched "manos": hands of fate today. man. you cannot even imagine how bad that movie is. it defies description. it's in a whole other category. i mean, riding with death is ridiculous, badly acted, and seemingly lacking in plot, but, as lyn said, it deserves an academy award compared to manos.
